News
I have received a forwarded email from my officemate Kaka regarding a 13 year old boy named Alfie who became a Father at 13 years old. It was a horrendous news,if I may say, for a boy like him to have lost his childhood days at an early age. At the age of 13, it was supposed to be all fun, bullying (this really exists), computer games and just simply no responsibilities at all. This was quite shocking for me though what was more horrid news I have heard lately is Grandfather raping their grandchildren or uncles or even their fathers.
Here’s the details:

AT first glance, Alfie Patten looks like a young lad proudly welcoming his new baby sister into the world.
To learn this baby-faced child is actually the father of the newborn shocked me to the core.
Twelve-year-old boys should be playing football and computer games — not having sex and playing dad.
His assertion that he “will be good and care for it” is heartbreakingly naïve.
How? He doesn’t even get pocket money.
Neither Alfie nor his “girlfriend” seemed to have the faintest clue about what might be the life-changing consequences of their actions.
What a damning indictment on Britain’s hugely expensive sex education programme in schools.
When boys as emotionally and physically child-like as Alfie start creating babies, it’s the thin end of a wedge that will break the existing cracks in society so wide open that there’ll be no hope of repair.
Baby-faced boy Alfie Patten is father at 13

BOY dad Alfie Patten yesterday admitted he does not know how much nappies cost — but said: “I think it’s a lot.”
Baby-faced Alfie, who is 13 but looks more like eight, became a father four days ago when his girlfriend Chantelle Steadman gave birth to 7lb 3oz Maisie Roxanne.
He told how he and Chantelle, 15, decided against an abortion after discovering she was pregnant.
The shy lad, whose voice has not yet broken, said: “I thought it would be good to have a baby.
“I didn’t think about how we would afford it. I don’t really get pocket money. My dad sometimes gives me £10.”

Babies
My friend superfriend Shielamae Paculba Obani who has just wedded last year on February 16, 2008 has just born a 7 pounds beautiful baby girl last January 26, 2009. Shiezanrah was born on the same day of his Ninong and Tito Julius Magsacay. The Tito asked if it can be named in his name since they both have the same birth dates ,sadly, Shiezanrah is a beautiful girl and with that it cannot be named to her Tito’s named. I don’t think the father would agree since it would be their first baby, might as well Julius will have to have his own.
The baby’s name is Shiezanrah. I can’t quite fathom the origin of its name though the ‘Shie’ comes from the mother’s name. Anyhow, I might as well ask the mother the the meaning of the name. I cannot wait for the Christening.
The next we wished and planned to have their own was Lhea Venice Bancoro, my friend and sister, whom also is expecting. Wish of luck to them and someday I could have one too. Hopefully, with our kids they could be best buddies like us. Ciao!!!

Trip
My sister had a 5 days vacation and part of her itinerary is to experience advance water rafting here in CDOC even if we have uncertainties due to flashfloods that occur here in Cagayan de Oro City for the past two weeks. After raftng, we went to Macahambus Park and experience the zip line. Hmmmm quite high.. Here’s our pictures:

Last year September 2008, we’ve went to Ulaliman, El Salvador to witnessed the turnover to the archdioses and the celebration of Mama Mary. At this time, the statue of Divine Mercy was completely finished with flowers on the ground. So glad and happy to have witnessed the blessed event.
Here’s some of our snaps:
